ABOUT US
We are an organization aiming to provide a bridge between water-based sports and the conservation of marine resources, mainly coral reefs, through education, interaction with the ocean and habitat restoration work.
Sail for Reefs was born as an innovative way to foster the love for the ocean, to learn about marine resources and implement coral reef restoration efforts. Our goal is to promote social change, environmental awareness, and personal development through the sport of sailing.
We make the sport of sailing accessible, provide environmental education and offer recreational opportunities to underrepresented groups, including women and youth of diverse backgrounds.
We use sailing as a tool to provide access to the ocean from a safe platform, eliminate the fear of the ocean and learn about the importance of coral reefs and marine habitats.
By encouraging knowledge, respect, and love for marine resources and activities, we also strive to demystify our oceans and increase their protection and enjoyment.
We seek to transform every participant into an ocean ambassador!
We are a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and under section 1101.01 of the Puerto Rico Internal Revenue Code (qualifies for Law 60/22 required donations).
